July 28, Saturday @12:30: SCAD Tour of Pierre Cardin Fashion: Pierre Cardin: Pursuit of the Future” is a major retrospective featuring iconic looks for both women and men from the 1950S to present, borrowed mainly from the Pierre Cardin Museum in Paris, and includes several dresses from the SCAD Permanent Collection. Optional late lunch after the tour.

July 23, Monday Museum Road Trip – The French Heritage Society organized a “road trip” to the Georgia Museum of Art in Athens. Sarah Kate Gillespie, curator of American art guided us through both “Women Artists from the Johnson collection and the fabulous collection of American impressionist paintings of Mrs. Day Sanders. Additionally, Bill Eiland personally took us through the R&R treasures, a sneak peek before it opens.

There will be a cost of box lunches which we will eat in the Board meeting room. There is no admission charge at the Georgia Museum of Art but a donation would be gratefully accepted.

Sunday, June 9 – Diner at Anis in support of Theatre du Reve. This was a fundraiser for their camp and 10% of your “addition” will go to them. There was a performance while we ate.

Saturday – Wednesday, May 5 – 9, 2018 – Visitors were here from our society in Toulouse. 7 visitors were hosted in our members’ homes. They spent a week in Florida and 4 days in Atlanta. They all spoke English.

Saturday, April 21, 2018 – We chartered a bus for an all-inclusive trip to North Georgia. We visited 3 Wineries for tastings and lunch. Wineries included: Stonewall Creek, Tiger Mountain and 12 Spies Vineyards, all in Rabun County.

Wednesday, March 21, 2018 – The Consulate General of France in Atlanta, in partnership with Atlanta’s sister city of Toulouse and Le Bilboquet restaurant, organized a gourmet dining experience for March 21 at 6:00 PM. Chef Stéphane Tournié joined Le Bilboquet Chef Cyrille Holota from his Michelin-starred restaurant in Toulouse. Together they prepared a menu showcasing the best of contemporary French cuisine. This is part of the 4th Edition of Goût de/Good France, a worldwide celebration of French gastronomy.

A group met for lunch at 1 p.m. at Bread and Butterfly Bistro before the play. We hosted a joint small reception after the play with the French Consulate and the Alliance Francaise

Sunday, March 4, 2018, 1:00 p.m. – GA Tech Grad Students were guests at an ATSCC member’s home as they were welcomed to Atlanta and the Atlanta Tech campus. The young men and women are
students at the GA Tech Campus in Metz, France. Brunch was served and consisted of several delicious dishes to help acquaint the students with Southern cuisine.

Wednesday, February 7, 2018 – We attended the Atlanta Sister Cities Commissioner Winter Party at City Hall. It is a lovely event with all 17 Sister Cities there, officials, consulate dignitaries, etc. This year we opened this up to our membership to attend for $20 per person to assist ASCC in raising funds to maintain its’ position as international city of significance.
