Having identified an auspicious antique furniture store appropriately named “The Chateau,” Chairperson of the Atlanta-Toulouse Sister Cities Committee held a grand celebration on April 6, 2025, to celebrate 50 years of sisterhood. The celebration was attended by French Consul General, Anne Laure Desjonqueres, and Executive Director, Office of International Relations, Paulina Guzman. Ute Marks, violinist with the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra, played a stirring La Marseillaise at the end of the speeches.
The celebration was attended by over 50 members and supporters of the ATSCC. Members of the Toulouse-Atlanta organization flew in to participate. They were hosted in members’ homes and treated to lovely evenings hosted by other members. As a finale to their trip, Wes Samson, Chairperson and President, escorted them to Savannah to enjoy the history of Georgia’s early development.
